We've repaired and renovated a spring box, well and cistern which will increase our watering capacity for agricultural expansion. Solar City has installed solar panels on the barn and while we'll still be tied to the grid, our solar array will produce all the electricity necessary for agricultural operations. Central Coast Wilds has prepared a biological resources assessment and habitat management plan which we are implementing to develop the farm and open space into a sustainable property to support organic agriculture, wildlife, native plants and varied natural habitats. Their plan recommended closing an old field-access road which posed erosion problems and we have regraded it and planted native flowers and trees there to stabilize it.

Approximately 3 acres of diversifed organic vegetables is planted as well as 1/4 acre of organic lavender for our CSA. We're also expanding the orchard to include more organic heirloom fruit trees - apple, pear and plum. We've installed honey bee hives in the orchard and eight goats now have a home on the farm and will be used by Vida Verde for milking and goat cheese making demonstrations. We've installed a bat box, owl boxes, raptor perches and plants designed to attract migrating Monarch butterflies.
