Farm-9-2A closer look at our produce… Vegetables & Berries The greatest opportunity that our U-pick Club allows our members is eating through an incredible range of produce throughout the growing season: more than 40 different crops! Strawberries and spring greens come on early, along with onions, radishes, Japanese turnips, sweet peas and cilantro. Summertime introduces raspberries, squash, basil, green beans and cucumbers. Finally, the warm days of fall transition to dry-farmed tomatoes, potatoes, winter squash, carrots, Brussels sprouts, dry heirloom beans and hardy roots. Like most of our members, you may find that eating exactly what is in season connects you to the land and your environment in a profound way. Each week the farmers harvest what is ripe and ready to eat, washing and delivering produce to the Catholic Workers in Half Moon Bay and Puente de la Costa Sur in Pescadero. U-Pick Herbs and Cut Flowers All U-Pick Members are free to cut whatever herbs and flowers they like from our gardens. You might make a bouquet of sunflowers, snapdragons, zinnias and sweet peas. Or gather a few soup herbs such as oregano, thyme, sage and rosemary. Some of our herbs are excellent as a fresh tea: lemon verbena, mint, lemon balm and chamomile.
